Dr. Morikis practices cross-disciplinary research in the fields of bioengineering, biopharmaceutical discovery, biophysics, structural biology, and computational chemistry. His current research efforts focus on understanding of the physicochemical basis of immune system function and the design of inhibitors against dysregulated immune system. He is a member of the following professional organizations: American Association for the Advancement of Science, Biophysical Society, American Chemical Society, and Biomedical Engineering Society.

Dr. Morikis’ research interests include immunophysics and immunoengineering; computational modeling of biomolecular structure, dynamics, and interactions; structural and translational bioinformatics; protein, peptide, and drug design; systems biology; NMR spectroscopy.
