Gary Whitmer is currently the director of engineering and chief engineer for the Launch and Missiles Division of TASC corporation. He leads a team of engineers and technical experts that provides systems engineering and mission assurance support to space launch vehicles and ICBM target launch vehicles. Whitmer manages and leads teams responsible for system requirements development, technical evaluation of concepts and designs, and detailed engineering design analysis. His current areas of interest spans the subjects of systems engineering, system requirements analysis (SRA), performance evaluation of vehicle design concepts, trade studies for guidance and control systems applications, six degree of freedom flight simulations, and inertial navigation systems. Whitmer earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, and a M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
